Before you receive your certificate for Certificate IV in TESOL or any VET course, you must have a registered USI number.


What is a USI number?

A USI is for life! You only have to create it once.
If you have done training since 2015, you probably have a USI.
If you are unsure, go to the Find my USI page to check.


How do I get a USI number?



  1. Visit https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-usi

  2. Click on “Create USI” and follow the instructions. When you finish, you will receive the USI.
    Important: Use exactly the same name you used for your IH registration.

  3. Update your USI on your student portal. Click here to go to the student portal.

  4. When you open your student portal, go to My Profile > Student Reporting Details

  5. Enter your USI number and press 'Save'.

  6. All done! Enjoy your course!
